Narrative
PELHAM, AL – One person went to the hospital Wednesday after a multi-vehicle crash involving a school bus along the highway in Highway 31 southwestern Shelby County.
The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. on Highway 31 just past Cahaba Valley Road in the city of Pelham. This is just west of Oak Mountain State Park and the Alabama Wildlife Center.
It’s not clear what caused the accident, but police say one person sustained injuries. The school bus was carrying students at the time of the crash, but none of the bus occupants were hurt.
Video footage taken at the scene indicates that a dark blue pickup truck was involved. The truck sustained heavy front-end damage.
