Narrative
RANDOLPH CO., AL – A 21-year old woman and her 10-year-old passenger died Thursday after a two-vehicle collision along the highway in central Randolph County.
The accident happened on US-431 near mile marker 200 north of Wedowee, which is about 94 miles southeast of Birmingham.
Police haven’t yet commented on the cause of the accident or the manner of the crash impact. They say the crash involved a 2016 Nissan Altima carrying two occupants and a 2017 Ram 1500 truck carrying one occupant.
The woman driving the Nissan, identified as Serenity Richmond, died at the scene. Her 10-year-old passenger died after transport to a local hospital.
Medics airlifted the driver of the Ram to the hospital with unknown injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
