Narrative

UNION GROVE, AL – A 25-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman died Saturday when a vehicle and a motorcycle collided in west-central Marshall County.

The accident happened around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and US-231 in the city of Union Grove. This is about 30 miles south of Huntsville.

There’s no word yet about what caused the two vehicles to crash.

The motorcyclist, identified as Blake Hicks, died at the scene.

Carolyn Thompson, the driver of the vehicle, died after transport to a local hospital.

Medics also transported a passenger from the vehicle to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
