COLLINSVILLE, AL – A man was killed yesterday after his vehicle swerved and crashed on the side of a highway, The Gadsden Times reports.
A man was traveling in a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer on US-11 yesterday when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a nearby drain. The impact caused the car to flip and fatally injured the driver.
The wreck happened near South Valley Avenue.
The Alabama State Troopers report that the Chevrolet driver had not been wearing seat belt restraints at the time of the crash. He died at the scene of the crash, which took place at around 2:45 p.m. He was a 76-year-old man from Fort Payne.
It’s unclear what exactly caused the accident to occur. We will be monitoring this story as the State Troopers continue to investigate.
