WINSTON COUNTY, AL – According to a report from WVTM13 News, a motorcyclist was killed in a crash that took place in Winston County on Sunday.
Authorities say the accident took place about five miles north of Haleyville on Newberg Road on Sunday afternoon. 46-year-old motorcyclist Steven M. Smith was riding a 200 Honda Valkyrie on Newberg when the bike veered of the road and crashed into a culvert. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Smith was found seriously injured at the scene and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, where he later died.
