BIRMINGHAM, AL – I-20 was shut down for several hours as local crews cleaned up a truck crash this morning, WVTM 13 reports.
A truck carrying a load of chicken fat was traveling west on I-20 when it crashed. Police report that the driver was approaching “Dead Man’s Curve” near the intersection with I-59 when the truck overturned.
The wreck took place at about 10:48 a.m. Tuesday.
40,000 gallons of the chicken fat were spilled out onto the roadway, causing closures for nearly six hours.
The truck driver was not hurt in the accident.
