HOMEWOOD, AL – Authorities have detained a man who allegedly struck a pedestrian and fled the scene this morning, AL.com reports.
The man was walking across Barber Court when a Dodge Charger Hellcat hit him. The Dodge driver fled the scene but came back nearly an hour after the accident.
The wreck took place shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday.
The pedestrian died at the site of the crash. His identity has not been released at this time.
Police took the driver into custody for questioning.
