BIRMINGHAM, AL – According to WVTM13 News, a two-vehicle collision on Five Mile Road in Birmingham left one person dead on Monday morning.
Authorities say the crash took place shortly before 6:00 a.m. in the 900 block of Five Mile Road, at East View Boulevard when 39-year-old Latilsha Aundrella Burrell was driving south on Five Mile Road. A vehicle driving in the northbound lane crossed the center line of the road and struck Burrell’s vehicle head-on.
Burrell was killed in the impact. An occupant in the second vehicle sustained serious injuries in the collision and was transported to UAB Hospital for treatment.
The cause of the crash remains unknown at this time. Police continue to investigate.
