MONTGOMERY, AL – Authorities arrested a man after he stole and crashed a Montgomery police car this afternoon, WSFA 12 reports.
At approximately 1:15 p.m. today, a man being questioned by Montgomery police evaded detainment by stealing a department SUV. A police chase then ensued on I-65 heading north until the suspect ran the vehicle into a ditch. The accident happened near Autauga County Road 40. It is unclear if there were any injuries resulting from the crash.
The suspect was then taken into custody and charged with theft and escape.
