BIRMINGHAM, AL – A man working in a construction zone on I-59 was fatally injured after a FedEx van hit him yesterday, AL.com reports.
The man was cleaning up debris near the exit towards Roebuck Parkway when a FedEx truck hit him. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by the Birmingham Fire and Rescue Department. The crash took place at around 12:30 p.m. Thursday. The FedEx truck driver was detained for questioning, but no charges have reportedly been filed.
The Birmingham Police Department is currently handling the case.
